How to Remove Makeup

Taking off your makeup at the end of the day should be as routine as a morning cup of coffee or brushing your teeth before bed. Not only will having a clean face help to keep your pillow cases clean, but it will keep your skin healthier too. The skin on your face is the most sensitive and should be treated with care. Here is a step-by-step guide to removing makeup.

1. Use an eye makeup remover like Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover Lotion which moisturizes skin around the eyes while also removing mascara, eye liner and eye shadow. Make sure to moisten the cotton ball slightly before adding the lotion. Dab on to eyes to let the lotion soak in then gently wipe away makeup. To make sure that all traces are gone, use a clean cotton ball and repeat. If it remains white, then your eyes are clean. *TIP* This eye makeup remover also works on taking lipstick off lips. It doesn't have a taste so no need to worry if you accidently get some on the inside of your lips.

2. Next, it's time to wash your face with a cleanser. Make sure to choose one that best matches your skin type. For oily skin, try Clearskin Immediate Response Cleanser. For normal skin, try Completely Clean Cleansing Cloths. Wash your hands first to make sure that you aren't spreading dirt and germs on to your face. Wet your face thoroughly with tepid or warm water to open your pores. Then lather a nickel sized drop of cleanser in your hands and gently massage on to your face and neck, paying close attention to the hair and jaw lines. To rinse, continually splash skin with cool water. The cool water will close your pores. Rule of thumb - you should spend twice as long rinsing as you do washing. Leaving cleanser residue on your face can cause skin irritations.

3. Pat, not rub, your face and neck dry with a clean towel.

4. Follow up with a moisturizer. Don't forget to also apply it to your neck.

Remember - Clean skin is healthy skin.
